Reporter - Anchor - Multimedia Journalist
Here's my best story of the week. A Sioux City police officer is shot during a routine traffic stop. The suspect manages to run off. Here's my 5 p.m. live report. For more stories, click here.
Journalism came into my life after spending my childhood on the stage. Growing up in a Chicago suburb, rehearsals for theater productions and music performances took up all of my free time. When I needed to choose a career path, I decided to get off the stage and tell stories outside the theater. My parents encouraged me to watch the news hoping I would become more knowledgeable about issues all around the world. It wasn't the glamour of the news that caught my attention. It was the stories, the people and the emotions journalists brought to TV every day - something I learned on the stage. But as I learned over time it's a better avenue for me to make a difference. When I reported one of my first stories someone told me, "You have no idea what this means to us. Thank you for telling our story." With my love for the Spanish language, I can also talk with the Hispanic community.
